Unitrunk has extended its industry-leading Speedway® Ladder range with the introduction of a new ZM (zinc-magnesium) coated steel finish, providing specifiers with a high-performance alternative to traditional finishes.
ZM steel has been used extensively in industries such as automotive and agriculture for many years, where its excellent corrosion resistance and long-term durability make it an attractive material choice. Unitrunk recognised the potential of ZM for cable management, having already introduced it to the cable tray, cable trunking and cable channel ranges, and has continued to invest in expanding its ZM product portfolio.
Enhanced corrosion protection
One of the key advantages of ZM is its ability to provide excellent corrosion resistance. The zinc-magnesium coating offers enhanced protection compared with conventional zinc coatings, helping products maintain their performance in challenging environments, with performance levels on par with hot dipped galvanised steel.
This makes ZM particularly well suited to projects where durability, reliability and long service life are important considerations. With traditional galvanised products, materials are required to leave the Unitrunk manufacturing facility to be externally galvanised before being returned for further processing and finishing. This additional transportation and processing stage can add time to the overall production cycle.
ZM-coated steel arrives ready for use within the manufacturing process, meaning fewer external processing stages are required. By reducing the need to send materials away for galvanising, Unitrunk can improve production efficiency and offer shorter lead times.
